Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Super - 1973

Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Super - 1973

The Giulia had all the hallmarks of a GTI some 15 years before Volkswagen gave name to the concept. With an all-alloy engine with twin-overhead camshafts, two double-choke carburetors, powerful disc brakes on all 4 wheels and 5-speed gearbox, the Giulia was in reality a sports car disguised as a compact family saloon. In the 1960s it took the middle manager and his family on the autostradas from Milan and Torino to the beaches at Forte dei Marmi and Lido di Jesolo at cruising speeds of 150 km/h with ease. For more than a decade is also became the preferred car for the Italian police and their colleagues in the Carabinieri. The 1600 Super was the top of the line among the Giulias, so what better candidate for a full restoration other than this charismatic Giulia 1600 Super could there be in this class of classic cars?

So we gave this Giulia the "full treatment". The empty body was taken to bare metal and restored using original panels. Then it received a complete paint job in Alfa Rosso. Interior is all new with new headlining, carpets and upholstery in black leather. Underneath everything is new from brakes to suspension. The original 1600 engine has been totally rebuilt as has the gearbox. In reality this gorgeous car is as close to a new Giulia 1600 Super as you can get. We have full documentation of this elaborate process that is available upon viewing of the car.
