Alfa Romeo Spider 1750 Duetto - 1969

Alfa Romeo Spider 1750 Duetto - 1969

Twenty years ago there where still good, rust free cars to be found in California. As a basically very healthy car found in the sunny state in 1991 and imported to Denmark, this Duetto was the best possible subject for a thorough restoration project. Only minimal body work was needed before a full repaint in Alfa Rosso 501. All mechanics were totally rebuilt, engine, gearbox, rear diff, brakes, suspension, etc.

The work was undertaken by an experienced Alfa race mechanic with the neccesary skills to finish the job to a very high standard. Every detail on this gorgeous Duetto has been meticulously sorted out, tested, adjusted and tested again until the owner was satisfied. Emphasis has been on getting this Duetto to drive as new or even better. Slightly lowered on Eibach springs, sitting on period correct Cromodora alloys and with upgraded dampers and every bushing and silent bloc renewed this example is the best driving Duetto we have ever tested. Engine, gearbox and the whole car runs like a swiss watch and provide a unique driving experience. The sweet 1750 engine pulls strongly without a cough or misfire despite its two large double barrel Weber carburettors providing the unmistakeable Alfa intake sound track. This is what the classic 105-series Alfa Spider is all about. Not the cheapest Duetto out there, but no one can turn a half decent example into a Duetto of this standard within the budget that buys this jewel.
